(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County, Samuel Henry Malimbo, has urged the county’s education department to strengthen coordination with local authorities and improve its working environment to enhance service delivery.
He made the remarks during a meeting at the county headquarters after officials from the education department presented their annual performance report.
Commissioner Malimbo emphasized the need for closer collaboration between the county administration and education officials in addressing challenges affecting the sector. He also called on education partners and stakeholders to support long-term infrastructure development, particularly the construction of office facilities, to reduce reliance on existing departmental buildings and strengthen institutional capacity.
As part of broader administrative reforms, the commissioner proposed relocating the education department’s offices to the county secretariat. He noted that the move would enable county legislative councillors to make full use of the current office space.
Speaking after the meeting, County Education Director Philip Taban welcomed the commissioner’s engagement and expressed the department’s commitment to closer cooperation with the county administration.
Taban said the continued collaboration reflects a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and the development of the education system in Yei River County.
County authorities say the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to improve public service delivery and strengthen coordination across departments.
