(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Candidates in Yei River County began sitting for the 2025 Senior Four national examinations on Monday, with county authorities emphasising the importance of focus, discipline, and integrity.
The Commissioner of Yei River County, Emmanuel Taban Seme, addressed students during a morning assembly at Emmanuel Model Secondary School, where eleven schools had been gathered to sit their exams. Commissioner Taban reminded the students that the future of South Sudan relies on their hard work and commitment.
“The future of this country lies in your hands. Work hard, stay disciplined, and do your best,” he said, urging students to approach their examinations with seriousness and honesty.
Phillip Taban, Director of the Yei River County Education Department, confirmed that 899 candidates are participating this year, including 382 females and 519 males. He also emphasised the need for students to avoid examination malpractice. “We advise all candidates to maintain honesty throughout the process. Success comes through preparation and integrity,” he said.
Students expressed readiness and confidence as the exams commenced. Bidal Alex, a candidate, said he was fully prepared after a year of consistent study. “Do not fear exams. Fear can make you fail even simple questions,” he said.
Another student, Nowel Moga, welcomed the decision to host multiple schools at Emmanuel Model Secondary School. He said the arrangement boosts motivation and confidence among learners.
The briefing and inspection were attended by the Yei County Commissioner, senior education officials, chief monitors from the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction, security personnel, teachers, and local media representatives.
Authorities highlighted the importance of upholding integrity during the examinations and pledged to ensure a fair and secure environment for all candidates.
