Rescue Mission Supports Over 1,500 Displaced Families with Essential WASH Supplies in Kajo-Keji

(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – More than 1,500 internally displaced families in Kajo-Keji County have received essential water, sanitation and hygiene supplies from a national humanitarian organization, Rescue Mission, in a move aimed at improving health and living conditions in displacement camps.

The organisation distributed non-food items to over 1,560 vulnerable households living in Logo, Keriwa and Mangalotore IDP camps in Liwolo Payam last week.

According to information shared on Rescue Mission’s official social media platforms, the supplies included buckets, soap, PUR water treatment products and latrine-digging tools.

The humanitarian agency said the assistance is intended to help displaced families meet their immediate water, sanitation and hygiene needs while strengthening their capacity to maintain healthier living conditions.

Rescue Mission noted that the intervention goes beyond the provision of basic supplies by promoting safer water management, improved sanitation and better hygiene practices among camp residents.

The distributed buckets will help households collect, transport and safely store water, while soap and water-treatment products are expected to improve personal hygiene and support the use of clean and safe drinking water.

The organisation added that the latrine-digging tools will enable communities to establish and maintain sanitation facilities, improving access to safe and dignified sanitation services.

Humanitarian workers say strengthening household hygiene and sanitation practices is critical in reducing the risk of waterborne and sanitation-related diseases, particularly in crowded displacement settings.

Through the initiative, Rescue Mission says it remains committed to improving the well-being, health and dignity of vulnerable displaced communities across Kajo-Keji County.
