Governor Adil Delivers Food Aid to Displaced Families in Kajo-Keji as Humanitarian Crisis Deepens

(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – Governor Emmanuel Adil Adil has visited internally displaced persons sheltering in Sokare, Liwolo Payam of Kajo-Keji County and delivered food assistance as hundreds continue to face difficult humanitarian conditions following recent border-related tensions.

During the visit on Sunday, Governor Adil and his delegation distributed assorted food items, including beans and flour, to displaced families currently taking refuge at St. Paul Cathedral and other locations in Sokare.

Addressing the displaced population, the Governor encouraged them to remain resilient, assuring them that the State Government is working closely with the National Government and humanitarian partners to mobilise additional assistance and find a lasting solution to the ongoing border dispute.

Governor Adil also briefed the community on the resolutions reached during a recently concluded joint border meeting and called on residents to embrace peaceful coexistence while respecting the agreed measures.

He further pledged continued support through the State Ministry of Health and its partners, promising more aid for vulnerable families affected by the crisis.

The displaced persons welcomed the Governor’s visit, describing it as timely, and appealed for de-escalation of tensions so they can safely return to their homes.

St. Paul Cathedral in Sokare is currently hosting the largest number of people displaced by the recent insecurity along the border.
