(YEI RIVER COUNTY, CES) – Health authorities in Yei River County say more than 98,000 children are targeted in an ongoing oral polio vaccination campaign across the county.
Yei River County Health Director Simon Sebit Musoga says the four-day vaccination campaign is targeting children under five years of age in both urban and rural areas.
Musoga is urging parents and caregivers to cooperate with mobile vaccination teams, who will move from house to house to administer the oral polio vaccine to eligible children.
“All these days, we have launched a four-day polio vaccination from five, and I urge all people including parents to wait for the vaccinators at home because we want all children to receive this oral polio vaccination in the county”
Polio remains a health concern for children under five years of age in South Sudan.
