(LAINYA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Lainya County, Robert Lasu John Morris, has received a delegation from the Bereka community in Juba. The group, led by Yoggu Lomayat, visited the county on Thursday and delivered non food items as a gesture of support to local families.
The Commissioner said the visit showed the goodwill and unity that exists between the two communities. He thanked the delegation for their contribution and said the items would help meet some of the needs of vulnerable residents.
He said the Bereka community’s support came at an important time, as many families in the area continue to face hardships. He added that such acts of solidarity help build trust and encourage peaceful coexistence across the region.
The delegation said their visit was aimed at strengthening relations and showing that the communities in Central Equatoria remain committed to mutual support. They said they would continue to work with the county leadership on areas where they can assist.
The brief visit ended with both sides praising the importance of cooperation and community partnerships, especially at a time when local areas across South Sudan face economic and social pressures.
