
Body of Eresto Taban Luate Arrives in Yei River County / PHOTO: County Press
(LAINYA / YEI) – The body of former Lainya County Commissioner Eresto Taban Luate arrived in Yei River County on 4th September ahead of burial in Loka, Lainya County.
The remains were received by Yei River County Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo and Lainya County Commissioner, together with family members, friends, in laws, local chiefs and other mourners.
Residents gathered to pay respects as the body arrived. Funeral proceedings are set to conclude in Loka, Central Equatoria State.
Luate died on 31st August, according to a statement from the office of Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony. The statement did not state the cause of death.
Luate served as Lainya County commissioner during the former Yei River State, one of 32 states later abolished in 2020. He also worked as security coordinator for Greater Yei Counties under that system.
At the time of his death, Luate was a member of the State Land Commission and the SPLM Veterans League in Lainya County.
Governor Adil described Luate as a dedicated public servant who served Central Equatoria State with commitment. He sent condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late official.
