(LAINYA COUNTY) -The Commissioner of Lainya County in Central Equatoria State, Huda Micah Laila, has confirmed that the security situation across the county remains stable, allowing residents to resume farming activities in all the five Payams of the county
According to a media briefing released Tuesday by the Governor’s Press Unit, Commissioner Huda reported that normalcy has largely returned to the area, with only minor security incidents being handled by law enforcement agencies.
“The briefing entirely covered security updates where the commissioner noted normalcy despite minor cases that the law enforcement agencies are handling in the county,” the statement read, adding that locals are actively engaging in farming as the rainy season begins.
The improved security situation has enabled communities to return to their fields, with agricultural activities increasing across the county, a key development for food production and livelihoods.
Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony commended Commissioner Huda for her efforts in restoring peace and stability in Lainya. He called for continued collaboration between county authorities and security forces to maintain the gains achieved so far.
The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security initiatives and promoting development across the county.
“We must continue working together to sustain peace and ensure that development activities, including agriculture, thrive in Lainya,” Governor Adil said.
The relative calm in the county is seen as a positive step toward recovery, particularly as residents take advantage of the rainy season to boost agricultural production.
