(TORE PAYAM, YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, accompanied by government officials, has toured government facilities in Tore Payam Centre to review infrastructure and service delivery at payam level.
According to the Yei River County Press Unit, the visit took place on 14th December 2024 and focused on assessing key public facilities used by both the administration and the community. These included schools, roads and government buildings that support local governance.
County officials said the purpose of the tour was to better understand the condition of existing infrastructure and to identify gaps affecting the delivery of basic services. The inspection also aimed to ensure that government programmes are being implemented effectively in Tore Payam.
During the visit, Commissioner Taban Seme and his delegation met with local leaders and community members to hear their concerns directly. Residents shared views on challenges facing the payam and highlighted areas they believe require urgent attention.
Peace and security were discussed as part of the engagement, with county officials stressing that stability remains essential for development and effective administration. The Commissioner encouraged cooperation between local authorities and communities to maintain calm in the area.
The delegation also reviewed coordination between payam administrators and county departments, with a focus on improving efficiency and accountability in public service delivery.
Officials said such oversight visits form part of broader efforts by Yei River County to strengthen governance at grassroots level and support peace and development initiatives across the county and South Sudan more widely.
The county administration said findings from the Tore Payam tour would be used to inform planning and future interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and public services in the area.
