(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, is expected to arrive in Yei River County today Monday as part of his official county tour aimed at engaging local leaders and inspecting key development projects.
According to Kenyi John Elisa, the Information Officer on the reception committee, all preparations have been completed to welcome the governor and his delegation.
Speaking to Access Radio on Monday morning, Elisa said residents had already gathered at the County Commissioner’s office ahead of the governor’s arrival. He noted that the governor will receive a warm welcome from residents at Koya border point and later at the Yei River Bridge along the Juba-Yei road before proceeding to Yei town.
During his visit, Governor Adil is expected to hold a security briefing at the County Commissioner’s office and officiate the closure of a one-day Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) cadres training workshop at the county party secretariat.
The governor will also inspect the ongoing construction of the Kanjoro-New Site Bridge,, and officially open the newly constructed SPLM office in Yei County.

The visit will further include engagements with community members through public rallies and meetings aimed at discussing development and governance issues affecting the county.
Residents and local leaders have expressed optimism that the visit will strengthen government-community relations and provide an opportunity to assess progress on key infrastructure and development initiatives in the area.
