Greater Gogrial Union Names Inauguration Committee Ahead of July Ceremony

(Juba) – The Greater Gogrial Intellectual Union has officially established a High Level Organizing Committee to oversee the preparations for its upcoming inauguration ceremony, expected to take place in early July 2025.

The decision was made during an executive meeting held on 22 June 2025. Following this, Aru Mayen Koor, the Interim Chairperson of the Union, issued a formal order appointing the members of the organizing team. The committee has been tasked with coordinating all activities related to the event, including logistics, communication, and financial planning.

According to the statement signed and stamped on 23 June 2025 in Juba, the committee will be responsible for ensuring a smooth inauguration of the Union’s new interim leadership. The team comprises seven members from diverse professional backgrounds within the Greater Gogrial community.

The newly appointed committee members include:

1. Marco Mayieb Wundit – Chairperson

2. Dr. Wilfred Ayiei Reech – Secretary-General

3. Suzi Awien Anthony – Treasurer

4. John Mayar Nyok – Information Officer

5. Lazarus Bak Madut – Member

6. Kuot Anau Kuot – Member

7. Deng Nyuol Deng – Member

The committee’s official terms of reference outline four main responsibilities: planning the inauguration ceremony, coordinating logistics such as venue, invitations, and the event program, managing the financial aspects, and keeping members of the union informed throughout the process.

The interim chairperson expressed trust in the committee’s ability to carry out its mandate with diligence and commitment. The Union, which represents intellectuals from the Greater Gogrial area, is positioning itself to play a stronger role in cultural, educational, and social development within South Sudan.
