(JUBA COUNTY) – The Caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Moulana Kalisto Lado Foustino, inspected the ongoing construction of Kapuri Bridge on Monday, a project being implemented by the National Ministry of Roads and Bridges in collaboration with the Juba County Authority.
During the inspection, Commissioner Kalisto assured residents of Kapuri that the County Authority will continue to follow up on the progress of the project.
He said the County Authority will work with the relevant authorities to ensure the bridge is completed as soon as possible.
The Commissioner said the completion of the bridge will improve access and movement for residents.
He said this will particularly benefit children going to school, patients accessing health facilities, workers, and other members of the community.
The Caretaker Commissioner also conducted an inspection along the highway and its surrounding areas.
He cautioned individuals operating businesses and other activities along the roadside to vacate the road reserve.
He directed those operating along the main road to leave within seven days.
The Commissioner said the directive is intended to improve road safety, maintain clear access, and reduce obstruction along the highway.
The Juba County Authority said it will continue to monitor compliance and coordinate with relevant institutions on the implementation of the directive.
The inspection followed the Commissioner’s resumption of duties on Monday, when he opened an access road in Gudele West, commonly known as Kuburi Haboba.
