(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County has urged members of the County Legislative Council to prioritize issues affecting ordinary citizens rather than engaging in political party debates.
Speaking during the reopening of the County Legislative Council on Friday, Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme called on councilors to unite and work closely with the executive to address challenges affecting service delivery and development in the county.
Seme emphasized that cooperation between the legislative and executive arms of the county government is essential for progress.
“You have seen that the council has a lot of work to do, and this requires our cooperation. The truth is that without cooperation we cannot achieve anything. In the council, you represent your areas, not political parties. The issues discussed in the council are not party matters—they are issues affecting the people of Yei. There will be time to discuss party issues during election periods. But now, as we reopen the council, you must focus on matters affecting Yei and work to make Yei a great place.”
Commissioner Seme further said the executive arm of the county government is ready to collaborate with the Legislative Council to advance development in Yei River County.
