(JUBA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the passing of Emmanuel Peter Sukole, a senior diplomat who served as Minister Plenipotentiary. The Ministry says his death is a great loss to his family, colleagues and the country.
In a condolence message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Monday Semaya K. Kumba, expressed sympathy to the family and friends of the late diplomat.
He said Emmanuel Sukole was known for his commitment to public service and his work across many years in the foreign service.
The Ministry stated that Emmanuel Sukole’s service and experience went back to the days when the country was still working under the Ministry of Regional Cooperation before independence.
His work contributed to the growth of South Sudan’s diplomatic relations in the region and beyond.
The Ministry said the late diplomat will be remembered for his professionalism and his dedication to representing South Sudan in international affairs. Officials noted that his absence will be felt, both in the Ministry and among those who worked closely with him.
The Foreign Affairs Minister offered support and prayers to the family during what he described as a difficult period of mourning. The Ministry called on the public to join in honouring his memory and recognising his contribution to national service.
The message concluded with a prayer for his soul to rest in peace.
