(JUBA – Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel of Central Equatoria State met with Rt. Hon. Isaac Aloro Lomodi, Acting Speaker of the Revitalized Transitional Legislative Assembly, on Thursday to discuss preparations for the reopening of the State Parliament.
The meeting focused on ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the assembly to resume work next month. Both leaders stressed the need for a smooth start to parliamentary sessions to accelerate the passage of pending bills that aim to improve public services across the state.
Governor Mujung draw attention to the importance of legislative action in supporting service delivery, noting that efficient parliamentary processes are essential for the development of infrastructure, education, health and other public sectors.
Acting Speaker Lomodi affirmed the Assembly’s commitment to work closely with the Governor’s office to ensure that the reopening proceeds without delays.
Preparations discussed included logistical arrangements for members, security coordination and administrative support to facilitate uninterrupted legislative operations.
The Governor and Acting Speaker agreed on a timetable that will allow Parliament to address key issues affecting the lives of residents, particularly in areas such as healthcare access, education and economic development.
Both leaders called for unity among legislators and government officials to prioritise the interests of the public and maintain legislative efficiency.
