(MOROBO COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Morobo County has sent a formal message congratulating Emmanuel Adil Anthony on his reappointment as Governor of Central Equatoria State and as the SPLM Interim Chairperson for the state.
The message was issued on 18 November and expressed strong support from local leaders in Morobo County, an area that remains closely connected to political developments in Central Equatoria and the wider region.
The commissioner said the new mandate signalled confidence from President Salva Kiir Mayardit, who also serves as Chairperson of the SPLM.
According to the message, the decision reflects continued trust in the governor’s record and his commitment to improving the governance of South Sudan.
The statement noted that citizens in Central Equatoria are looking for stable leadership and clear direction as the country continues working toward peace and development.
The commissioner said the timing of the governor’s return to office is important because the SPLM in Central Equatoria is seeking stronger leadership and renewed focus.
The message expressed confidence that the governor’s second term would bring further progress for the state, including political stability and improved administration.
Morobo County emphasised its optimism about the governor’s return. The commissioner said the county expects that the governor’s long established regional networks will help strengthen cooperation with neighbouring countries.
This point is seen as important for counties such as Morobo that lie along international borders and depend on cross border ties for trade, movement and security coordination.
The message stated that the governor is well placed to build on earlier achievements while also launching new plans for Central Equatoria.
Morobo County pledged its full support for efforts aimed at peace, development and improved services. The commissioner added that the county looks forward to working with the governor on priorities that benefit communities across the state.
The congratulatory message also extended best wishes to the people of Central Equatoria, saying the renewed leadership mandate offers a chance to work together for unity. The commissioner said he hopes the new chapter will bring peace and stability across the state.
The statement ended with a personal message from the commissioner, wishing the governor success in his new term and asking for God’s guidance in leading the people of Central Equatoria.
