(JUBA/MOROBO) – Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has directed strong action to restore peace and stability in Morobo County after months of repeated attacks by armed opposition elements.
The Morobo County Security Coordinator, Hon. Isaac Moro, briefed the Governor on the current security situation. According to Moro, the county has been mostly peaceful, with only a few areas experiencing insecurity. Local security forces are increasing their presence and measures to protect residents and maintain order.
Governor Adil instructed the coordinator to work closely with the county commissioner, community leaders and security personnel on the ground. The goal is to stabilise the county and ensure the safety of civilians. He called on residents to remain calm while authorities continue their efforts.
The Governor also stressed the importance of improving relationships between civilians and security forces. Strengthening trust and cooperation between the community and the military is seen as essential for long term stability.
At the end of the meeting, Governor Adil appealed to the South Sudanese diaspora to avoid spreading negative information that could discourage refugees from neighbouring countries from returning to Morobo County.

Thanks Governor for working hard to restore the confidence of the people of Morobo who have been living in anxiety due to sporadic instances of insecurity. The move you have taken, in addition to the call for dialogue among the leaders, elders and communities of Morobo will most likely result in durable peace in Morobo County and its environs. Amb.
