(MOROBO) – Governor of Central Equatoria Calls for Continued Peace Ahead of Elections
Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State, has urged the Morobo County Peace Committee to continue promoting peace and unity in the lead up to the General Elections scheduled for December 2026. He emphasised the importance of local initiatives that address community concerns and strengthen social cohesion.
The governor made the call during a meeting with the Peace Committee, which discussed plans to hold dialogue sessions and engagements with different local stakeholders.
These meetings aim to address community grievances, tackle security challenges, and create a peaceful environment across Morobo County, which has faced several security issues in recent months.
The Peace Committee delegation was led by Charles Data Bullen, the County Commissioner, who revealed ongoing efforts to support grassroots peacebuilding initiatives.
Governor Adil reiterated his commitment to backing local peace programmes that promote harmony and reduce tensions within the county.
A statement from the Governor’s Office in Juba stressed that continued collaboration between county leadership and community actors is essential to maintain stability and prepare for the upcoming electoral process.
