(MOROBO COUNTY) – Citizens of Morobo have been assured of the government’s commitment to restoring stability in the area following a visit by SSPDF Major General John Lual on Tuesday. The visit focused on strengthening security and rebuilding trust between communities and the security forces.
During the visit, General Lual met with traditional chiefs in the presence of Morobo County Commissioner Honourable Charles Data and Security Coordinator Moro Isaac. He stressed the importance of immediate civil–military dialogue to ensure the safety of civilians remains a top government priority.
Major General Lual highlighted ongoing government plans to stabilise security in Morobo, a county that has recently experienced challenges disrupting the daily lives of residents. He emphasised that collaboration between security forces and local leaders is essential to achieving lasting peace.
Commissioner Charles Data welcomed the visit, describing it as a timely intervention. He said the people of Morobo have long awaited increased government attention on security matters and expressed hope that the General’s assurances would lead to sustained safety and stability.
Security Coordinator Moro Isaac stressed the importance of continuous cooperation between security agencies and local leadership to safeguard citizens and enable communities to return to normal life.
The traditional chiefs in attendance pledged their full support for government efforts, noting that peace and stability are vital for the county’s development and future growth.
