(JUBA) – Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has praised security forces for ensuring peaceful and orderly Independence Day celebrations across the state.
Speaking on Friday at the State Government General Secretariat in Juba while receiving security briefings following the July 9 celebrations, Governor Adil commended the security apparatus for their sacrifice, patriotism, and commitment to maintaining peace and stability.
The Governor described this year’s Independence Day celebrations as largely peaceful, citing positive security reports received from various parts of the state.
He said the vigilance and dedication demonstrated by security personnel played a crucial role in safeguarding citizens and preserving public order during the national festivities.
Governor Adil encouraged the security forces to remain committed to their mandate of protecting lives and property, stressing that the calm witnessed during the celebrations should be maintained throughout the year.
The Governor also applauded residents of Central Equatoria State for their cooperation and support to security agencies during the celebrations.
He called on citizens to continue working closely with law enforcement authorities to promote peace, security, and community cohesion across the state.
South Sudan marked its Independence Day on 9 July with celebrations held across the country, commemorating 15 years since the nation gained independence.
