(MOROBO COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Morobo County, Charles Data Bullen, has ordered all security forces in the area to stay on high alert. This follows a violent attack by unknown gunmen on the edges of Morobo Town on Wednesday night. During the incident, a local man named Bidali Emmanuel, who was 21 years old, was shot and killed.
Commissioner Bullen spoke to mourners yesterday afternoon at a funeral service held at the home of the family. He spoke out against the violence and called the act cruel. He urged all armed groups to stop attacking innocent people and instead look for peaceful ways to solve their problems.
The Commissioner said that the main job of the security forces is to protect people and their property. This is especially important now as many people are returning to live in Morobo County. He promised the public that the local government is working hard to bring back peace and keep all communities safe.
Family members and people living nearby said that the young man left his room after he heard strange noises outside. He then met the attackers and was shot dead shortly before midnight. People in the area believe the gunmen may have been trying to steal cattle.
Following the killing, Commissioner Bullen held an emergency meeting yesterday morning with the leaders of all security departments. They looked at the current situation and agreed on new steps to improve safety. These measures aim to stop more attacks from happening and to protect the public.
The Office of the Commissioner has shared its deepest sympathies with the family of Bidali Emmanuel. Local leaders are asking the public to work with the police and security teams by sharing any information that could help the investigation.
It is not clear if the local authorities offer any financial help to the family.
