(CENTRAL EQUATORIA) -The Central Equatoria State Security Committee has on Tuesday 17th, March, 2026 convened an ordinary meeting in Juba, issuing a series of directives aimed at improving public safety and maintaining order across the state.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to heightened vigilance, while strongly condemning the recent abduction of civilians by anti-peace elements. The victims were later released in Yei River County.
Authorities also addressed reports of border encroachment in Kajo-Keji County, stating that the matter will be resolved peacefully through coordination with the national government.
Chairing the meeting, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony directed the Juba City Council and the National Civil Defense Service to ensure a rapid response to fire outbreaks within the capital. He also instructed the City Council to continue reorganizing markets and public spaces to help prevent such incidents.
In Yei, security forces have been ordered to launch a crackdown on criminal gangs to restore law and order.
Meanwhile, army commanders have been directed to enforce presidential orders on the return of cattle to their places of origin, as the farming season approaches. Any cattle camp that fails to comply will face penalties.
The committee has also tasked State Security Advisor Angelo Daya with leading a peace conference between Juba and Mundri, focusing on cattle migration and promoting long-term stability between communities.
