CES Youth Union Presents 100-day Action Plan to Governor Adil, seeks support for youth agenda

(JUBA)-Central Equatoria State Youth Union (CESYU) on Friday presented its 100-day work plan to State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, outlining priorities aimed at promoting youth empowerment, peacebuilding and participation of young people in governance.

The plan was presented during a meeting at the governor’s office by a CESYU delegation led by Chairperson Aggrey Duku Arkangelo.

According to Arkangelo, the 100-day plan identifies key challenges facing young people in the state and proposes practical interventions to address them.

The plan focuses on peacebuilding initiatives, promoting youth entrepreneurship, and increasing youth participation in governance. It also seeks collaboration with government, development partners and other stakeholders to create opportunities for young people across Central Equatoria State.

Arkangelo said the youth leadership appreciated the governor’s open-door policy and willingness to engage with youth-led initiatives.

He said the union remains committed to working with the state government, development partners and other stakeholders to advance youth development. He added that the union’s office remains open to partnerships that support young people’s empowerment.

For his part, Governor Adil welcomed the youth leadership and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting youth-focused programs.

He said the state government would continue to promote youth participation in governance, entrepreneurship and skills development as part of broader efforts to improve opportunities for young people.

The governor also encouraged young people to take a leading role in combating illiteracy, promoting girls’ education, engaging in agriculture and other productive economic activities, while rejecting division and hatred.

He further urged the youth union to intensify mobilization efforts ahead of South Sudan’s planned general elections in December, encouraging young people to participate peacefully in civic processes.
