Former Central Equatoria State Governor General Augustino Jadalla/Handout
(JUBA) – Former Central Equatoria State governor General Augustino Jadalla has urged politicians and leaders in the state to embrace forgiveness and begin a new chapter of reconciliation and unity.
He said a united political environment would help restore stability, strengthen governance, and support development across Central Equatoria.
Jadalla said political leaders should lead by example by showing unity and respect for each other:
“As politicians, let us open a new page through forgiveness, reconciliation and unity starting from the top down to the bottom and its time for a new beginning through love and unity and lead by example among ourselves.”
He encouraged both senior and junior leaders to rebuild trust and work together for the good of the state. He said this approach would support peace and improve the relationship between leaders and their communities.
He also warned against the spread of political misinformation and rumours. According to Jadalla, these practices create tension and hinder development.
He said some individuals spread false information for personal gain and urged leaders and the public to avoid such behaviour:
“Rumour mongers and job seekers are the ones promoting disunity and destruction in the state. I know there are out there ready waiting to spread rumors in the residence and office of the new governor we need to avoid these practices as leaders and politicians of Central Equatoria State.”
The former governor said all politicians, regardless of their party or background, are prepared to support the new leadership of Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony. He said good leadership and cooperation would help move the state forward.
He made these remarks during the reception ceremony held for Governor Adil at the Central Equatoria State Government Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.
