Yei Leaders Back Governor Jadalla, Call for Peaceful Elections

(YEI / JUBA) – Community leaders from Yei have congratulated the newly appointed Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, and pledged their support for peaceful and credible elections scheduled for December.

The delegation, comprising former national and state lawmakers, met Governor Jadalla on Sunday to commend his appointment by President Salva Kiir Mayardit and express confidence in his leadership.

Led by Interim Chairperson Agele Confucius and Interim Secretary General Khamis James Yata, the community leaders urged the governor to prioritise peace, security and political stability as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.

Speaking during the meeting on Sunday evening, the delegation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at maintaining harmony and fostering an environment conducive to democratic participation across Central Equatoria State.

For his part, Governor Jadalla thanked the delegation for its solidarity and support, pledging to work closely with communities throughout the state. He emphasised the importance of unity, peaceful political engagement and collective responsibility in ensuring a secure environment for free, fair and peaceful elections.

The governor further called on citizens and political stakeholders to work together in preserving stability and strengthening public confidence in the electoral process ahead of the December polls.
