(JUBA) – The Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) is running a Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign to reduce cyber risks, strengthen operational resilience and protect public confidence in the Bank’s operations.
Bul Kornelio Koriom, Director of the Cybersecurity and Business Continuity Planning Department, said the campaign aims to build a strong cybersecurity culture and protect the Bank’s financial data and information systems.
“The campaign seeks to educate employees about threats such as phishing, malware and social engineering while promoting safe digital practices,” Koriom said.
“Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility. Every employee has a role to play in protecting the Bank’s information systems and ensuring continuity of operations,” he added.
Separately, the Executive Committee of the Bank of South Sudan held a meeting chaired by First Deputy Governor Hon. Tong Akech Deng to review key institutional and operational matters.
The members focused on ongoing activities, implementation progress and priority issues requiring management consideration to strengthen internal coordination and operational effectiveness.
The South Sudanese pound traded at about SSP 7,439 per US dollar in parallel markets in early October 2026, according to the World Food Programme’s latest market monitor.
This reflects a continued depreciation of the local currency compared to the SSP 6,500 per US dollar recorded in June 2026.
