County Education Authorities, during the release of the Primary examination results
(YEI RIVER COUNTY)-Education authorities in Yei River County have released the 2025 Primary Eight examination results, revealing a strong overall performance with a 94 percent pass rate.
The results, officially declared on Tuesday, show that out of 1,834 candidates who sat for the exams, 1,733 successfully passed. The candidates included 976 boys and 858 girls.
Officials say the high pass rate signals steady progress in basic education, despite ongoing challenges such as limited school infrastructure and shortages of learning materials.
Speaking on behalf of the County Commissioner, Executive Director Hillary John Konga described the results as encouraging and a sign that efforts to improve access to education are beginning to yield results.
“The performance of candidates demonstrates encouraging progress in access to and continuity of basic education across the county,” Konga said during the announcement.
Education authorities noted that the results are important as they determine students’ transition from primary to secondary school.
Meanwhile, the County Director of Education, Philip Taban, said the 94 percent pass rate reflects the combined efforts of teachers, parents, and education partners who have worked to support learners throughout the academic year.
“These results are encouraging not just for the students, but for the entire community that has invested in their success,” he said.
While celebrating the strong performance, officials acknowledged that challenges remain, but emphasized the need for continued investment in education to sustain and improve outcomes.
Parents and community leaders have been urged to support students progressing to secondary school. Authorities stress that education remains central to long-term development and stability in the county.
The release of the results had been widely anticipated across Yei River County, with many families eager to learn the outcome. For most candidates, the high pass rate offers renewed hope for continued education and future opportunities.
