Yei Posts 56% Pass Rate in 2026 Mock Exams

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Yei River County has recorded a 56 percent pass rate in the 2026 Primary Eight (P.8) and Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP) mock examinations, according to official results released by the County Education Department.

The results show that 1,066 out of 1,904 candidates who sat for the mock examinations passed, while 838 failed.

The figures were announced by Philip Taban, Director of Education for Yei River County, based on an official declaration issued by his office on 18 September 2026. The examinations were conducted across 52 primary schools and seven ALP centres in the county.

Of the 1,904 candidates who sat the examinations, 1,015 were boys and 889 were girls.

According to the results, 593 boys passed while 422 failed, giving boys a pass rate of approximately 58.4 percent. Among the girls, 473 passed and 416 failed, representing a pass rate of about 53.2 percent.

Overall, the results indicate that 56 percent of candidates passed the examinations, while 44 percent did not meet the required threshold.

The results were contained in an official declaration from the Office of the County Education Director addressed to the Commissioner of Yei River County, Samuel Batali Henry Malimbo.

The mock examinations were conducted to assess the preparedness of candidates ahead of the national Primary Leaving and ALP examinations.

Speaking during the announcement of the results on Tuesday, Hillary Lokudu, Executive Director of Yei River County, commended teachers for their commitment to supporting learners throughout the academic year.

The results announcement was attended by parents, county authorities and education stakeholders, who expressed hope for improved performance in the forthcoming national examinations.

Education officials said the mock examination results provide an indication of learners’ readiness and should not be interpreted as the final outcome of the national examinations.
