(OPINION/Yeka Joel) – High expectations are rising for agricultural mechanisation in Central Equatoria State.
During the recent reopening of the state parliament, the Governor stressed the important role of agricultural mechanisation in Central Equatoria State. The initiative aims to increase food production and help the state become more self sufficient.
Honourable Dr Ghada, who represents Central Equatoria in the national parliament, also drew attention to the importance of modern farming tools. She stood among tractors during a public event, symbolising support for improving agricultural practices.
As the first month of the cultivation season begins, it is important to discuss the mechanisation strategies being introduced for farmers. The use of modern agricultural equipment can help increase productivity, reduce labour costs and improve efficiency on farms.
Agriculture remains a strong driver of economic development. By giving priority to mechanisation, the state can improve food security and contribute to wider prosperity.
Leaders are therefore urged to take clear action to support these initiatives and help secure a strong agricultural future for Central Equatoria State.
