(CESGPU/JUBA) – The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, has called on the Church to take an active role in promoting peace, security and unity across the state and the wider South Sudan.
Speaking on Sunday at All Saints Cathedral in Juba, Governor Mujung addressed a gathering of congregants and church leaders, stressing the importance of faith institutions in supporting national healing and reconciliation.
He stated that his leadership mandate, given to him by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, is to unite the people of Central Equatoria, enhance security and work towards restoring lasting peace and stability.

Mujung reaffirmed his commitment to these goals and urged the Church, along with the youth, women and intellectuals, to play an active role in helping the government achieve them.
“I call upon all of you to continue praying for these noble goals, peace, security and unity to prevail in Central Equatoria State and across South Sudan. I urge you to support the government’s programmes. This task requires collective efforts,” he said.
According to the State Government Press Unit, the Governor’s visit to the Cathedral was part of a public engagement campaign aimed at strengthening partnerships with local actors in the journey towards peace and social development.
