(JUBA) – Parts of Juba will face a four hour power cut on Saturday as the electricity provider works to install new transformer poles and equipment.
The Juba Electric Distribution Company, known as JEDCO, said the planned interruption will run from 8:00 AM to midday on the weekend of 4th July 2026. The work will affect Partial Feeder F, removing around 3 megawatts from the network.
Areas that will lose supply include Hai Cinema, Hai Neem, Hai Mobil, Nimratalata, Atlabara B, Hai Thoura, Nyakuron East and West, Suk Sitta, Giada, the University of Juba, Jebel Market, Jaborona, and parts of Khor Williang. The affected locations fall within parts of Juba Block Council and Kator Block payams.
The company is erecting transformer poles and installing their accessories. JEDCO asked customers for patience and apologised for the disruption. Residents can call the toll free line 319 for more information.
The Saturday outage comes during an extended period of power rationing across the city. JEDCO announced last week that temporary rationing would continue from 29 June to 5 July 2026.
The company said the extension was caused by ongoing planned maintenance at the power generation plant. Customers were directed to check the published rationing schedule for their local dates and times.
JEDCO has also encouraged residents to apply for new connections. The company operates customer centres in Nimratalata and Gudele. Applicants need to bring a copy of their national ID, a copy of a land sketch map, and a written request for connection.
The details of the planned outage are set out below.
