(JUBA CITY) – Juba Electric Distribution Company has extended ongoing power plant maintenance works in Juba until 20 February 2026.
In a public notice, the company said the extension follows continued technical work at the power plant. It referred customers to the published maintenance schedule covering mid February.
According to the schedule, power outages are planned daily from 5pm to 12am across different feeders between 14 February and 20 February 2026. Areas affected include parts of Juba Town, Munuki, Gudele, Rock City, Jebel, Nyakuron, Kator, Atlabara, Hai Malakia, Hai Cinema, Gumbo, Kololo, Airport Road and surrounding neighbourhoods.
JEDCO apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation during the maintenance period.
The company also issued guidance on electricity meter issues. It said tamper alerts can be caused by illegal connections, attempts to bypass the meter, an open meter terminal cover, tamper switch damage, wiring or earthing faults, high voltage surges, or a burnt meter terminal.
Customers were advised not to use or attempt to repair a tampered meter. JEDCO said a technical team must inspect and clear the fault. Customers should call the toll free hotline 319 and provide their meter number, name and location to arrange a visit.
The company also gave instructions for users of Conlog prepaid meters. It said if units are reloaded but power does not return, or if supply does not resume after restoration, customers should press and hold the hash key on the meter for three to five seconds to restore electricity.
The maintenance extension comes as Juba continues to face regular supply interruptions linked to plant servicing and network upgrades. JEDCO said the works are aimed at improving stability of electricity supply in the capital.
