(JUBA CITY) – The Juba Electric Distribution Company, JEDCO, has announced an extension of its ongoing power plant maintenance works until 20 February 2026, with scheduled electricity interruptions across parts of Juba County.
In a public notice, the company said the extension is necessary to complete technical works aimed at improving power supply reliability in the capital and surrounding areas.
JEDCO apologised to customers for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the maintenance period.
The company said all planned power outages will take place daily from 5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight throughout the maintenance period.
Officials said the interruptions will follow a rotating schedule affecting different power feeders every three days, covering major residential, commercial, and government areas in Juba.
According to JEDCO, the rotation is intended to distribute the impact of the outages fairly among consumers while essential repairs continue.
The utility said technical teams are working to complete the maintenance within the revised timeline to restore stable electricity supply.
Residents and businesses have been advised to plan their activities around the outage schedule and to take necessary precautions, especially health facilities, schools, and small enterprises that depend on electricity.
JEDCO said it will continue to update the public through local media and community leaders on any further changes.
The company added that the maintenance forms part of wider efforts to strengthen energy infrastructure in South Sudan and support economic activity in Juba and other urban centres.
