(KAJO KEJI COUNTY) – The Kajo Keji County Executive Council on Friday approved a set of amended by laws aimed at guiding residents and strengthening local governance in the county.
The decision was taken during a formal meeting of the Executive Council, chaired by the Council Chairperson, who also serves as the Commissioner of Kajo Keji County.
The meeting brought together senior county officials to discuss measures intended to promote order, accountability, and peaceful coexistence among communities.
Speaking at the session, the Chairperson of the Executive Council, Hon. Wani Jackson Mule, said the new by laws are designed to respond to community needs, improve respect for the rule of law, and support effective public service delivery.
He said the regulations are expected to help local authorities address social concerns and improve coordination at the grassroots level.
The council said the by laws provide clear guidance on social behaviour, administrative procedures, and community responsibilities.
Members of the Executive Council welcomed the decision, describing it as an important step towards improving governance and strengthening unity in Kajo Keji County.
They called on residents to read and understand the new rules and to work closely with local authorities during their implementation.
The council also agreed that relevant departments will begin community sensitisation programmes to ensure the public understands the purpose and importance of the by laws.
Officials said awareness campaigns will focus on explaining citizens’ rights and duties under the new regulations.
Implementation is expected to begin immediately, with enforcement carried out under existing legal frameworks and county laws.
Local authorities said the new by laws form part of wider efforts to promote stability, development, and accountable leadership in Kajo Keji County and across South Sudan.
