(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) ground Force Commander Maj. Gen. Ater Kuch has arrived in Kajo-Keji County on Tuesday for official security mission assessment and self-acquaintance with the security situation in the area.
While in Kajo-Keji Ater is expected to engage with local authorities and security personnel, community leaders and county officials. On the first day of the meeting, he received detailed briefings on the current security environment, challenges facing the troops, and ongoing operations to maintain peace and stability in the area.
Commander Ater emphasized the importance of vigilance, discipline and close cooperation between security forces and the local population. He reiterated the commitment of the command to protect civilians, safeguard property, and ensure that law and order is upheld across the county.
He further encouraged security personnel deployed in the county to remain professional and responsive to the needs of the community while carrying out their duties. Wani Jackson Mule, Kajo County commissioner welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and reassuring the residents noting that the local authorities will continue to cooperate with the troops on the ground to ensure that peace and stability reign in Kajo-Keji County and the surrounding areas. Kajo-Kaji County area commander, Brig. Gen. Henry Buri expressed appreciation for the continued support of the ground forces of Greater Yei in maintaining security and stability in the area. The visit concluded with the Commander inspecting key security installations and interacting with troops on the ground, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening peace and security in Kajo-Keji County. Kajo-Keji County located near the Ugandan border bordering Moyo and Yumbe districts. Last year, the SSPDF and UPDF clashed at the border area and left several civilians displaced.“Kajo-Keji County remains strategically important, and it is our duty to ensure the safety of our people,” Maj. Gen. Ater said. “I am here to listen, assess, and strengthen our response to any security threats.”
