(KAJO-KEJI) – The Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County, Hon. Wani Jackson Mule, has initiated weekly executive council meetings in a bid to strengthen coordination and service delivery across government departments.
Chairing his first official session on Monday, 21st July 2025, at the County Headquarters in Mere, Commissioner Mule said the move is aimed at reinforcing both State and National Government priorities at the county level.
Mule also serves as Chairman of the County Executive Council. He stressed the importance of consistent communication among departments to prevent fragmentation and delays in service provision and observed that the absence of regular briefings can hinder timely reporting and undermine coordinated progress across administrative units.
The Commissioner explained that while this meeting was meant to be his first since assuming office in May, earlier sessions were postponed due to overlapping official responsibilities. He explained that weekly meetings will help departments review activities, discuss challenges and make formal resolutions in line with legal frameworks.
Kajo-Keji Executive Director, Ryembe Benjamin Wani, also spoke during the meeting, noting that while past leadership had held monthly meetings, more frequent sessions were now necessary. He said the unstable security situation in the region had previously affected participation, reducing the effectiveness of decision making processes.
Several challenges affecting the county’s administration were highlighted during the session. These included the lack of financial support for daily operations, inadequate infrastructure, unclear ownership of public land, overlapping departmental responsibilities, poor mobility due to insufficient transport resources, a dormant land authority and shortages in qualified personnel.
A total of 13 departmental heads were present at the meeting. All agreed to begin holding executive meetings every Wednesday to better coordinate efforts and respond to operational obstacles. The aim is to align Kajo-Keji County with broader governance standards and ensure the delivery of services in a more timely and efficient manner.
Officials emphasised that consistent dialogue and problem solving will help push forward the county’s goals of peace, development and citizen focused administration.
