South Sudan, Djibouti Discuss Trade and Yei Dry Port

(JUBA) – The Caretaker Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Labanya Margaret Mathya, has called for stronger cooperation between South Sudan and Djibouti to implement a trade agreement signed in 2025.

Dr Labanya made the call during a meeting with Djibouti’s Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. Hassan Robleh Mahmoud in Juba on Monday.

The officials discussed ways of facilitating trade between the two countries, including plans to develop White Nile River ports in parts of the Upper Nile region and dry ports in locations such as Yei.

The Minister said implementing the projects could support business development and create opportunities for young people to build their economic future.
