(JUBA CITY) – The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) has confirmed that the vehicle parking expansion project at Juba International Airport has reached a key milestone, entering the marking stage.
This stage involves laying out the traffic flow, marking parking slots, and creating designated areas to improve safety and accessibility.
According to SSCAA, this is a vital step to ensure the parking area meets international airport standards and offers a user-friendly environment for passengers and staff.
SSCAA highlighted that the marking phase is designed to increase efficiency, reduce congestion and make movement within the parking area safer and easier.
Clear markings will guide passengers, airport personnel, and service vehicles, contributing to smoother traffic management and an improved overall airport experience.
“This stage is crucial in creating a well organised and safe parking area for all users of Juba International Airport,” said a spokesperson for SSCAA.
The authority added that the project is part of a wider effort to modernise the airport and strengthen South Sudan’s transport sector.
The SSCAA confirmed that the project also includes future phases such as installing signage, lighting, and finishing touches to further enhance navigation and safety.
Once completed, the parking expansion will increase the airport’s capacity and is expected to provide a more welcoming environment for travellers.
