(JUBA COUNTY) – The Central Equatoria State government has formalised a partnership to build a modern livestock facility in Juba County.
The agreement for the Juba Modern Cattle Yard was signed on Friday between the Juba County administration and Bros Group of Companies Ltd. The facility will be located at Mogiri Boma within Mangalla Payam.
This project aims to improve the quality of livestock trade and create more economic chances for cattle keepers and traders in the area.
By using a public private partnership model, the county hopes to build better infrastructure for the local market. The new yard is expected to make cattle sales more organised and meet better veterinary and food safety requirements.
The signing ceremony included the State Advisor on Peace and Security, Angelo Daya, and the commissioners of both Juba and Terekeka counties. Leaders from the Juba County Legislative Council also attended the event.
Officials stated that the project will help the county collect more local revenue and support growth for the people living there.
Juba County authorities said they want to work more with private businesses to improve how services are delivered to the public.
A statement from the Office of the County Commissioner says the authorities believe such deals are necessary to support the lives of people across the county and ensure the livestock industry grows in a steady way.
