(JUBA COUNTY) – The Office of the Commissioner of Juba County in Central Equatoria State has asked the public to ignore a video circulating on social media about land showing, allocation and plot issuance in Nyamini.
In an official clarification issued on Wednesday 4 March 2026, the county authorities said all land activities in the contested Nyamini area remain suspended under several legal orders issued by the state and county government.
According to the Commissioner’s Office, the suspension follows Resolution Number 2 from Central Equatoria State Security Meeting Number 14 of 2025. The resolution directed the immediate halt of all land activities in Nyamini because of security concerns and disputes between communities over territory.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Central Equatoria State Security Committee. The meeting instructed the Commissioner of Juba County to suspend land demarcation and development activities in the area as tensions were increasing among local communities. Authorities said ongoing plot allocations and separate processes were adding to the disagreements.
Following the state directive, Local Order Number 2 of 2025 issued by Juba County formally enforced the suspension at the county level. The order stopped all land demarcation, plot showing, plot allocation, site inspections and related development activities in Nyamini until further notice.
The county also referred to Gubernatorial Order Number 19 of 2026 issued by the Central Equatoria State Government, which cancelled the issuance of any plot documents in Nyamini. Under this order, no land documentation from the area will be recognised or processed until further notice.
Officials said the order confirms the authority of the state government to maintain law and order and requires strict compliance by county authorities and the public.
The Office of the Commissioner said Juba County authorities are currently engaging with stakeholders in an effort to resolve the dispute peacefully and establish lawful land administration in the area.
The county warned that any individual or group issuing land documents in Nyamini despite the suspension will face legal action.
Authorities also urged residents to rely only on official government communications and legal instruments when dealing with land matters in the area and to ignore unofficial statements that misrepresent government policy or procedures.
The clarification was issued by the Press Unit of the Office of the Commissioner of Juba County in Central Equatoria State.
