
Security Review Ordered After Killing in Tombek Payam/PHOTO CREDITS: County Press
(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – Authorities in Terekeka County are investigating the killing of a civilian in Tombek Payam after an armed group carried out a night attack in the area.
Officials said the victim was fatally attacked by unidentified armed men at about 12:52 am. Security forces have begun efforts to identify and arrest those responsible.
Local authorities have urged residents to remain calm as investigations continue. They say security teams are working to prevent further incidents and maintain stability in the area.
Community leaders have also been asked to report any security threats quickly to help authorities respond faster to incidents.
The attack has raised concern among residents in Tombek Payam, where officials say cooperation between the public and security agencies is important to improve safety and prevent crime.
During a visit to the area to assess the situation, Terekeka County Commissioner Dr Emmanuel Loku Lodu condemned the killing and described it as a serious crime against the community.
He said violence and robbery should not be tolerated and called on those involved in criminal acts to abandon such behaviour.
The commissioner urged residents to remain united and focus on development and peace in the county. He also asked local chiefs to report security incidents quickly and to work closely with authorities to maintain order.
Dr Lodu said leaders at county level remain committed to improving security, development, health services and education for communities across Terekeka County.
He added that local authorities continue to support efforts by the Central Equatoria State government and the national leadership to maintain peace and stability in South Sudan.
