Twenty traditional chiefs and local government administrators from Yei Town Payam have begun a three-day training on nonviolence and conflict resolution aimed at strengthening peacebuilding efforts in Yei River County.
The training, organized by ONAD and its partners, seeks to equip local leaders with skills in mediation, dialogue and peaceful dispute resolution.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, County Commissioner representative Noel Taban urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to help address community conflicts and promote unity and social harmony.
Yei River County Paramount Chief Joseph Brown commended ONAD for its continued support to peacebuilding initiatives and encouraged participants to use the skills acquired to peacefully resolve disputes in their communities.
According to the ONAD, the training is designed to strengthen local leadership capacity in preventing conflicts, encouraging dialogue, and promoting sustainable peace across Yei River County.
