(JUBA) – Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony of Central Equatoria State has directed the swift revival of the Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) into a fully functional state media institution. T
he announcement came during a meeting with State Minister of Information and Communication, Hon. Nyarsuk Patrick, in Juba on November 28, 2025.
The meeting focused on restoring EBC’s capacity to inform, educate and entertain citizens across Central Equatoria State.
Minister Nyarsuk appealed for strong leadership support to ensure the broadcasting service becomes operational before the festive season. He emphasised the role of reliable information in shaping public awareness and development.
Governor Adil praised the Ministry for its initiative and assured full support for the revival of EBC. He highlighted the importance of state media in keeping the public informed about daily progress, government activities, and development projects within the state.
Officials in attendance included Deputy Governor Hon. Paulino Lukudu Obede and State Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hon. Lupai Satimon. The leaders discussed a coordinated approach to fast track operationalisation of EBC and ensure it serves as a credible source of news and education for the public.
According to a statement from the Governor’s office, the expected benefits of reviving EBC include:
