(JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Congress Organising Committee for Jonglei State and Greater Pibor Administrative Area has finalised its preparations for upcoming party activities across the region.
The committee is headed by Political Bureau Member Josephine Naphon Cosmos. It includes National Liberation Council member and Deputy Team Leader Narticio Luduke and SPLM Secretary for Peace and Reconciliation Ajak Micheal, along with representatives from the national secretariat, the Youth League and the Women League.
As part of its operational roadmap, the committee will carry out a structured series of activities in each county and administrative jurisdiction. The process begins with an official general briefing from the head of the committee, followed immediately by the dispatch of County Congress Committees to oversee grassroots engagement.
The committee will then receive and review reports from the county congresses, lead the official State and Administrative Area congresses, compile lists from the counties and finally announce the National Convention delegates list.
Ahead of the rollout, the SPLM Secretary for Training and Research, Dr John Oryem Ernest, addressed the committee members and urged them to strictly uphold the core values of integrity, transparency and professionalism.
Dr Oryem also called on the Youth and Women League representatives to actively mobilise their groups to ensure high participation and allow members to exercise their democratic rights within the internal party framework.
To ensure administrative accuracy and preparedness, the committee was guided through official forms, statutory requirements, eligibility criteria, monthly subscription protocols and public service record verification guidelines.
In line with these preparatory milestones, the leadership renewed the call for all party comrades to report to their respective constituencies before the state congresses, to ensure strong grassroots coordination and active member participation.
The SPLM is preparing for its Third National Convention and the December 2026 general elections. The Secretary General has directed party cadres to return to their constituencies for the primaries and congresses leading to the National Convention.
The party has said it is shifting political mobilisation away from Juba based networks towards grassroots engagement across South Sudan.
