(TEREKEKA COUNTY)-Central Equatoria State Governor and SPLM Chairperson Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on party members in Terekeka County to maintain unity and comradeship, warning that internal wrangles could undermine the party’s organisational strength ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking during a political mobilisation and party structures strengthening training in Terekeka County on Saturday, Adil said internal divisions are a setback to the SPLM’s vision and mission at a time when political mobilisation is intensifying across the state.
The one-day training, organised by the county SPLM secretariat with support from the state secretariat, brought together representatives from all 10 payams of Terekeka County. It forms part of efforts to strengthen grassroots party structures and improve readiness for the upcoming electoral period.
Adil stressed the importance of discipline within party ranks, saying unity, recruitment, mobilisation, training and resource mobilisation remain central pillars of the SPLM’s organisational agenda in the state.
He urged members to prioritise strengthening the pillars rather than engaging in factional disputes.
Adil called on members to rally behind collective party goals as preparations intensify for the national polls scheduled for December 2026.
Prior to the elections, the SPLM in Central Equatoria State reiterated its support for Salva Kiir Mayardit, the party’s chairman and president, and promised to strengthen grassroots mobilization in favor of the party.
The appeal for unity coincides with the announcement of important deadlines for voter and party registration by the Political Parties Council, which has sped up internal party preparations and political mobilization across the country.
Political parties are increasing internal organization, membership registration, and structure consolidation as the electoral roadmap develops.
