(JUBA) – Preparations have been completed for a Sudan People’s Liberation Movement expanded meeting in Central Equatoria State that will gather party members from across the state ahead of the electoral period.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in Juba from Thursday 12th to 14th March 2026. It is expected to bring together SPLM members from all counties of Central Equatoria State, representatives serving in the national government and members of various SPLM state leagues.
Organisers say the meeting will focus on strengthening party structures, improving coordination among members and increasing mobilisation as the country moves closer to the planned elections.
Officials said the gathering will provide an opportunity for party members from different parts of the state to discuss organisational issues and prepare for the political process.
The preparations were confirmed after a final planning session between the state leadership and the organising committee responsible for the event.
Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, who also serves as the state chairperson of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, said the meeting aims to reinforce unity among members and ensure strong party organisation across Central Equatoria State.
He called on SPLM members across the state to remain united and take part in the meeting to strengthen the party ahead of the electoral process.
The governor also expressed appreciation to the organising committee for completing the preparations for the event. Officials said the meeting is expected to draw party representatives from counties across Central Equatoria State as part of wider political mobilisation activities in South Sudan.
