(JUBA) – Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on Boda Boda riders in Central Equatoria to improve safety and follow traffic laws as they carry out their daily work.
Speaking at the State Government General Secretariat, Governor Adil stressed that careful riding protects both riders and the public while ensuring the continuity of their business. He encouraged the Boda Boda Association to educate members on strict adherence to traffic rules.
The Governor also urged the association to cooperate with state authorities to safeguard riders’ rights and welfare.
Mr. Abugo Lasuba, a representative of the Boda Boda Association, highlighted the need to strengthen relations with government entities. He proposed installing tracking systems on all motorcycles to address the growing issue of motorbike theft.
Mr. Lasuba also praised President Salva Kiir for granting Governor Adil a second term, describing his leadership as progressive and confidence-inspiring for the state.
The meeting emphasised both safety and security for riders, in what the Office of the State Governor said signalled a joint effort between the government and Boda Boda operators to improve road safety and protect livelihoods.
