(CENTRAL EQUATORIA STATE) – The three-day expanded meeting of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Central Equatoria State has concluded with a strong call for unity and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The meeting ended on Saturday in Juba after bringing together senior party leaders and officials from across the state.
The SPLM Secretary-General, Akol Paul Kordit, urged party members to return to their counties and payams to begin intensive public orientation and mobilization following the meeting.
Dr. Kordit encouraged members across the country to replicate the organizational model developed during the Central Equatoria expanded meeting and emphasized that unity and solidarity remain key to the party’s future.
Meanwhile, the SPLM State Chairperson and Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, called for discipline and unity within the party to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.
Governor Adil directed county and payam party leaders to strengthen grassroots structures and maintain an active presence in their communities.
He also announced the distribution of printing machines to several counties including Lainya, Yei, Terekeka, Kajo-Keji, and Morobo to improve party operations.
The governor further launched an agricultural pilot program aimed at boosting food production and economic empowerment. Each of the counties of Juba, Yei, Kajo-Keji, Terekeka, Lainya, Morobo, and Wonduruba Administrative Payam received one million South Sudan Pounds to support farming activities.
SPLM state leagues including the Youth, Women, Veterans, and Persons with Disabilities also received similar funding for agricultural projects.
The meeting concluded with leaders urging members to return to their communities and strengthen the party ahead of the December 2026 elections.
