Red Cross Reaches Over 15,000 People Displaced by Kajo-Keji Clashes

(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – More than 15,000 people displaced by recent clashes in Kajo-Keji County have received emergency food assistance and essential household items through a joint humanitarian response led by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the South Sudan Red Cross, and supported by the Netherlands Red Cross (Rode Kruis).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ICRC said the assistance was provided to families forced to flee their homes following the outbreak of violence in parts of Kajo-Keji. The emergency relief package included food supplies and other essential household items aimed at helping affected communities meet their immediate needs.

The humanitarian agencies said the intervention is part of ongoing efforts to support vulnerable families affected by conflict and displacement in Central Equatoria State. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together to provide lifesaving aid and alleviate the suffering of communities impacted by the recent violence.

The assistance comes as humanitarian organizations continue to respond to the growing needs of displaced populations across South Sudan amid recurring insecurity and humanitarian challenges.
