(LAINYA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Lainya County, Hon. Robert Lasu, led an official inspection of two major construction projects on Friday aimed at strengthening community development — the Lainya Women’s Centre and the Agricultural Cooperative Society Store.
The site visit confirmed that both projects are progressing steadily, with construction nearing completion.
According to county officials, the final roofing stage is the only major phase remaining. Once completed, the two facilities are expected to contribute meaningfully to local development, especially by empowering women and improving agricultural productivity.
Lasu reiterated the county administration’s commitment to supporting such initiatives, describing them as essential for the well being of the people of Lainya.
He said the local government remains ready to provide additional assistance to ensure the projects are completed successfully and begin serving their intended purpose.
The Commissioner was accompanied by senior local officials, including the Executive Director of the County, the Director of Agriculture, and the Chair lady of the Lainya Payam Women’s Association, among other dignitaries.
The Women’s Centre is expected to provide a dedicated space for women to engage in training, community dialogue and income generating activities, while the Agricultural Cooperative Society Store will serve as a facility for storing farm inputs and produce, support collective farming and market access.
No specific financial figures were provided during the inspection regarding the new infrastructure projects. Local residents welcomed the Commissioner’s visit.
